From a Tuft of Wool to a Gentle Fawn: A Day in My Studio

Time seems to slow down here at the Vantoark studio.

Every morning, as the first rays of sunlight hit my wooden workbench, the magic begins. No loud machines, no assembly lines—just the rhythmic shush-shush of a needle meeting soft wool. Today, I want to take you behind the scenes and show you exactly how a tiny, soulful fawn comes to life.

It all starts with a simple tuft of raw wool.To get that authentic "forest fawn" look, I never use just one shade. I blend three different earth tones to create a natural gradient that looks rich and high-end.

Needle felting is, quite literally, an art of patience.Using a tiny barbed needle, I poke the wool thousands of times to entangle the fibers into a solid shape.

• The Body: I start with the core structure and move down to those delicate, spindly legs.
• The Details: The "personality" is in the ears and those tiny white spots on the back. Each spot is meticulously felted in, one fiber at a time. It’s a labor of love that takes hours, but seeing the form emerge is pure magic.

I’ve always believed that handmade pieces have a spirit.The most critical moment is placing the eyes. A millimeter higher or lower changes everything—from curious to shy to sweet. The second those glass beads click into place, I feel like the fawn is finally "awake."

In a world of mass production, people often ask: "Why not just use a mold?"Because every fawn that leaves my studio is unique. It carries the warmth of my hands and the quiet sunlight of a day spent creating.
